The Internal Revenue Service has notified us that electronic filing will begin on January 24, 2022.
However, the IRS is now allowing taxpayers to file their taxes through their free tax file service earlier, for filers with income of less than $73,000 annually. The tax returns will be held as pending until the e-filing officially opens on January 24.
